Chaun L. Johnson, a native of Chicago, has taught in Chicago’s parochial and public schools for more than 10 years. His professional teaching experience consists of being an elementary, middle, secondary, and post-secondary school instructor. He also has served many years as a Catholic high school dean of students and a CPS charter school social science department chairperson. He is currently the principal of the Catalyst Schools—Howland Charter.

Samuel I. Brown, a Chicago native, has a diverse background accrued over the past 18 years, when he served as a technical systems specialist and educator. His professional teaching experience consists of being a secondary instructor and post-secondary school instructor. He is currently the dean of students for the Catalyst Schools—Howland Charter.

Igbazenda Moses Tighil, a native of Naka, Benue State, Nigeria, has taught in Nigeria, Kenya, and Chicago for over 15 years. A product of the Christian Brothers educational system, his professional teaching profession stretches between elementary, middle, and high school. He is currently the assistant principal of the Catalyst Schools—Howland Charter.

Patt Kroll has deep roots in Chicago's West Side. She has spent many years working with the youth in the community as a certified youth development worker; was six-year advisory board member of the North Lawndale Employment Network; founded and managed the Clarence Jones Life Long Learning Institute; and created and ran two summer youth programs. Patt was also appointed to the Juvenile Detention Center Self Inspection Committee from December 2005–January 2007 to evaluate the Cook County Juvenile Detention Center, as well as participating in the juvenile justice system program to facilitate community youth panels for first-time offenders. Since December 2008, she has been the graduate support/community outreach director at the Catalyst Schools—Howland Charter. She recruits and orientates new students, manages the graduation process, and oversees parental involvement and committees.
