Mrs. Garnett, music teacher at Catalyst-Howland, was the recipient of a grant to provide musical instruments for the music program. The $5,000.00 will provide a significant boost to the program and greater opportunity for Catalyst-Howland scholars to develop their musical talent and skills.

As Spring bursts onto the landscape, Catalyst Scholars continue to dig deep into their studies. Congratulations to the recent trophy winners in both Math and Reading.
It was the week Catalyst Scholars took the ISAT (Illinois State Assessment Test). The pressure was on. Yet, scholars still performed well in their competition to be the top classroom in Math and Reading. Check out which classrooms hold the trophy this week.

When Chicago Public Schools CEO's Paul Vallas and then Arne Duncan (now Secretary of Education for the Obama Administration) asked the San Miguel Schools to replicate as Public Charter Schools, they were asking that we bring the underlying values of the San Miguel system of education to the public sector.
