Born and raised in Chicago, Michael Kasang is a founding member of Catalyst-Circle Rock Charter School.  Mr. Kasang has served the Catalyst community in the capacities of classroom instructor, Mentor Teacher and Lead Teacher.  In the 2011-2012 academic year he assumed the role of Director of Instruction.  An alumnus of the Teach for America program, Mr. Kasang was a 2008 recipient of the Distinguised Lasallian Educator Award and has also been nominated for the DRIVE Award.  Mr. Kasang is a graduate of Saint Louis University and has a Masters in Teaching degree from Dominican University.  Mr. Kasang has also served as a consultant for the National Institute for Excellence in Teaching (NEIT), in which he prepares school administrators to observe and coach teachers.  He is currently working towards an advanced degree in Administration and Supervision at National Louis University and considers it a distinct honor and pleasure to serve the students of Catalyst Circle Rock with an extraordinary team of educators.
