A Special Reunion Event

The women of Siena High School, closed at this location  in 1973, returned to the renovated school for the first time on April 17, 2010.

This special reunion event marked a return to the women’s roots as leaders, homemakers, executives, employees, and human service providers.  It was not just a nostalgic walk down memory lane for the 580 who made the trip.

The site of their early formative education in spirituality and values currently houses, Rock of Our Salvation Free Evangelical Church, Circle Urban Ministries, and Catalyst Circle Rock Elementary School.  This block, source of spiritual growth and values based education for so many Siena women continues to offer the same spiritual strength, social services, and values based educational opportunity that they took advantage of when they were in their teens.

The Siena High School graduates, came back to the home of the school once run by the Sisters of Mercy, from across the country to witness their legacy.  This incredible mission continues to be an anchor in the Austin community and still shines as a light for many.  What once was, continues to be through time.  The adaptations made over the years continues to breathe life into an ancient vision and the people who embrace it.

Welcome to Siena Women everywhere.  Come home and visit whenever you have an opportunity.
